The village is situated at the foot of its old medieval castle, the ruins of which retain an undeniable appeal. When visiting the castle, which is free of charge, from its towers you will have a remarkable view on the Semois meanders.
A viaduct, many bridges and tunnels, all reminders of a disused railway, are planned to become part of the future Ravel (an abbreviation of Route à velo – bicycle route) and will be used for cycling, hiking and horseback riding.
Close to Herbeumont there are lots of other places and cultural activities to be discovered. In a radius of 20 km you can find museums, extraordinary folklore and craftsmen but also exceptional activities.
Herbeumont is a stepping stone to France. We recommend a visit to Sedan and its fortress, the Basilica of Avioth and the citadel of Montmédy.
